Carefully preserved in the Winterthur Library collection of rare books is Pierre de la Mesangere鈥檚 Collection de Meubles et Objets de Go没t, published in Paris between 1801 and 1831. The series includes more than 700 hand-colored engravings of furniture, carriages, draperies and other decorative objects. Mesangere鈥檚 publication was influential in popularizing the designs of Napoleon鈥檚 decorators, Percier and Fontaine.
